Salt and the Hunters

A group of Elk hunters would go together and rent a cabin for the hunting. Each season the cooking responsibilities moved from on hunter to the next. The one rule was that if you complained about the cooking you would then be the cook for the rest of that season and when it was your turn again to cook.

Ruben had not had his turn at cooking until this season. He was not wanting to cook so, he set out to cook so badly that some one would complain and he would believed of the responsibility. The first night he heavily salted the food and then served to the other hunters. Leonard was the first to taste the food. After his first bite Leonard exclaimed, “WOW, that is salty.” then realizing what he said he added, “Just the way I like it.”
