The Plane Tree
Two Travellers, walking in the noonday sun, sought the shade of a widespreading tree to rest. As they lay looking up among the pleasant leaves, they saw that it was a Plane Tree.
“How useless is the Plane!” said one of them. “It bears no fruit whatever, and only serves to litter the ground with leaves.”
“Ungrateful creatures!” said a voice from the Plane Tree. “You lie here in my cooling shade, and yet you say I am useless! Thus ungratefully, O Jupiter, do men receive their blessings!”
Our best blessings are often the least appreciated.
Common blessings come in many forms for me. There are blessings of Grace, GOD’S willingness to forgive us of our sins against HIM, even though we don’t deserve forgiveness. There is the blessing of Chastisement from the Holy Spirit in the form of correction to be observed in one’s life that will bring us closer to our GOD. Then here is the blessing of Love. I think it is best described as the love of Christ that was shown on the cross as he gave up his life so we may live.
Prayer while common place in Christian beliefs, many have said that GOD doesn’t always answer prayer. I believe that there is no such thing as unanswered prayer. I believe that every prayer is answered in accordance with HIS will, it just may not be the answer you are looking for, but it is the right answer for you if you follow GOD’s will.
